Welcome to the Berghofstüble Obermarchtal
We are a family-run business since 1996, from 2024 in the second generation.
You will find a beautiful place to stay with us, which is close to the Danube cycle path and at the foot of the Swabian Alb.
In November and December we traditionally offer our roast goose from geese from our own organic farm.
We look forward to your visit.
History of the house
From farm to accomodation. In 1984, Günther Widmann took over his father's farm.
As this farm with its 15 hectares was too old and too small to be operated profitably in the 90s, Günther Widmann decided to take a different path.
In 1994, the planning and subsequent conversion work started. The only upper floor, which had once served as a grain floor, was converted into three rooms and the former pigsty was converted into a breakfast room. During the conversion work, however, Günther and Uta Widmann had the idea of using the large breakfast room as a restaurant area as well. Every spare minute was invested in accomplishing this conversion.
On Friday, August 24, 1996, the Berghofstüble was officially opened. A lot has happened at the Berghofstüble since 1996.
Due to the increasing demand for guest rooms, the next major investment was not long in coming.
In 1998, planning began for the conversion of the hay and straw store of the former cowshed. A total of seven further rooms were built in 1999 and completed in 2000.
In 2005, the winter garden was added and the outside area with a terrace. The beautiful winter garden, which is flooded with light, also serves as a breakfast room.
The last extension to the Berghofstüble was planned in 2016. This included 3 single rooms and was finally realized and implemented in 2018.
